Dublin Dance Festival – It’s actually going to be awesome

Contemporary Dance can come across as pretentious and annoying. Much like most art :) But Dublin Dance Festival is making such an excellent effort to change this perception. Yay. They’ve made it look fun and inviting. And i want to go see stuff. And i am prone to thinking that contemporary dance is just people repeatedly wriggling in some muted coloured leggings and a top. Sigh. So this is big.

The promo makes me happy and makes me go ‘wow – i want to see that’ in equal measures. Poifect.

Marley the Film – Review – Peace, Love & Unity

So, much to my disappointment ‘Marley’ was not the prequel to Marley & Me but it is nevertheless worth seeing. There’s lots of dead legends and i think i have preconceived notions about who they were, often based on the very little i know about them. I used to think i was intuitive person but have slowly come to realise i like to combine massive generalisations with a vivid imagination. So learning more is always good.

Best Places To Eat in Dublin – La Dolce Vita

The Queen of Tarts in Dublin, which has two locations, has become famous for their good food, amazing cakes, beautiful atmosphere and sweet atmosphere. But next door the the Cow’s Lane Queen of Tarts is an inconspicuous looking restaurant called La Dolce Vita. There is nothing striking about it’s exterior next to the bright red busy-ness of Queen of Tarts, but as soon as you walk in the door it smells like great Italian cheese and home and it’s laid back, the staff are chilled out in a way that makes you feel totally at home there and you will wonder how you weren’t always here.

Arts Critics on Small Friendly Isle

Today i just want to share a piece my sister wrote recently. She’s a graduate of drama and theatre studies and among other things, writes about theatre and performance on her blog.

Monday Morning Fashion Meets Festival Daydreaming

So on my adventures through Asian, Indian and Vintage online stores to see what they’ve got that our high street stores haven’t, i found some deadly stuff. Bought some and the rest i’m just gonna pop on here in case someone else can get the joy outta them. I will never claim to know anything about fashion, but stuff that makes me go “oooohh”, is possibly worth sharing. Go get yo-self some bargain on. And have a good week. Things To Do in Ireland: Day Trip to Kilkenny

Kilkenny is one of Ireland’s oldest cities and thus settled comfortable home to culture, history and a great arts scene. It is definitely more a crafts arts scene than a contemporary arts scene but it has it’s moments for that too, especially at the Kikenny Arts Festival which runs every August and is well worth checking out. (Bring / borrow / rent a car if you’re going to this as there’s usually stuff all over Kilkenny county as well as in the town centre and it can be a great adventure.)

My sister came home laughing but very disappointed last week after attempting to order a flat white somewhere.
